New Paltz Way Earns National Recognition in Travel + Leisure

Travel + Leisure has published a full review of New Paltz Way, the boutique hotel built on the site of a former box factory alongside the Wallkill Valley Rail Trail in New Paltz. All 28 guest rooms overlook the woods and the trail with the Shawangunk Mountains in the distance, most with private balconies, and come appointed with heated bathroom floors, record players, and complimentary minibars. Second-floor suites add large terraces that feel like private treehouses.

Interiors by Kasia Bloom of Projekt Bloom pair old-world warmth with modern style. The parlor holds a vinyl bar guests can borrow from, a fireplace, original work by local artists, and a boulder brought in from Kerhonksen, while a wall of rocks at check-in nods to the Gunks, the unofficial rock-climbing capital of the Northeast. The self-guided spa offers a sauna, steam room, frost cabin, and relaxation pool, with fire pits and lounge chairs facing the woods outside.
